Room With a View
This place was amazing! From our last beach bach travels to the West Coast, South Island New Zealand. I've done a few sketches of this little place called
Somehow I managed to score us a stay there in the xmas break even though thats virtually impossible, thanks to Daniel the owner who was so accommodating and helpful.
This was the quirkiest room at the bach with the best views I've ever had while sitting on an outdoor loo. You could sit there contemplating the vast West Coast shoreline and wildlife and just sketch. Bit breezy around the britches though as open plan and not as much fun to navigate in the middle of the night down the overgrown flax path and spider webs. Hubby thought it was a little too primitive even though the owner had just upgraded from the long drop to the flush loo (luckily for him) but I loved it and could have happily stayed there for a couple of weeks! So much charm and character and it reminded me of childhood holidays when I was a kid holidaying at my Grandparents farm by the Manawatu river.
Keep an eye out for more sketches coming soon from Woodpecker Bay Bach. See also
