Peeking Kea

Peeking Kea, oil on board, 6"x6"
Todays little painting is of one of my favourite New Zealand native birds the Kea. A very cheeky, intelligent and inquisitive parrot known for their rather destructive tendencies. You'll find them mostly around the alpine regions in the South Island of New Zealand. Easily bored you'll often see them stripping a car that has been left abandoned  for the day while the owners hit the ski slopes. They're very funny and entertaining to watch.
